PongPon Preechanon (Pong) is a contemporary artist who lives in Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated from Silpakorn University with a Major in Painting.
He caught the eye of collector and gallery owner at 333 Gallery from a collection of his thesis work.
His artwork is a representation of emotions that one is unable to put into words. Having picked up art as a young boy from television, it's safe to say he is a self-taught artist. With inspiration from a great master-mind like Peter Paul Rubens, he applies the same systematic ethic Ruben applied in his art work.
His paintings are based on Thai idioms and sarcasm. His work the “Bucket boy” speaks on specifically the topic of shame and how in this case, for as long as the bucket covers the boy’s head, his shame is hidden. It brings this irony and humorous element and keeps the element of reality in the background.
Pong is represented by 333 Gallery in Bangkok, Thailand Bangkok.
