This painting depicts England’s division of land with France that saw the division of the area into two sides for the administration. World War 1 saw the division of the territory of the Ottoman Empire. Before it was Syria they called it a secret deal, size-Pico. This meeting was held in the month of June 1916 and was organized by British diplomat Sir Mark Sykes and French diplomat François Georges-Picot, and endorsed by the Russian Empire.
